Preparations for the Open Monuments Event 2012

After a long walk through the old town of Dordrecht yesterday, we went for a coffee at Villa Augustus. I was very happy to find a program there for the upcoming ‘Open Monumentendagen’ event (Open Monument Days) in Dordrecht. The event is going to take place on 8 & 9 September 2012, all over the country actually. The program gives me a chance to prepare my visit to the open Art Nouveau monuments that are closed on other days…

The following monuments are relevant for us, on our journey into understanding Art Nouveau:

05. Antonius Kerk (Burg. de Raadtsingel 45) – Art Nouveau altar by August van Os

11. De Holland (Burg. de Raadtsingel 97) – Art Nouveau’ish by Sybold van Ravensteyn

14. Remonstrantse Kerk (C. de Wittstraat 28) – Art Nouveau interior by H.A. Reus

17. Villa Beukenhof (Singel 87) – Art Nouveau elements in the Teahouse by L.P. Zocher

33. St. Beeldende Kunsten (Voorstraat 180) – Art Nouveau Facade by C.J.J. Tenenti

45. Bouman GGZ (Kuipershaven 40) – Art Nouveau facade and interior

58. Schaeffer Galerie (Groenmarkt 78-80) – Art Nouveau’ish by C.J.J. Tenenti
