In April 2013 we bought an Art Nouveau home for our family and we have been renovating it since. We have steamed off 6 to 7 layers of old wallpaper in most of the rooms, electrical wiring has been embedded in the walls, lead water pipes have been replaced, the plasterer is now busy with the walls and ornamental ceilings, and soon we will need to decide what to do with all those beautiful white walls… Hence I am currently looking into period wall paper which is actually not as easy as I had hoped.
At the same time, I have been carefully watching the statistics behind my Blog and it has come to my attention that there are many other people searching for Art Nouveau Wallpaper! Therefore, I have decided to document all Art Nouveau wallpaper that I come across; I hope others will share their own finds here too, so together we can create a kind of ‘database’ for Art Nouveau wallpaper here.

beautiful work! I never thought much about wallpaper but I was at the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston the other day and they had an exhibition on wallpaper. I thought, wow! They actually put an exhibit on wallpaper in a museum!
When I looked at it, I was really impressed. They had a lot of really neat stuff in there. And the work it must have taken to make it!
Here’s a link to the exhibition…

Good luck with your renovations! I wish I had the time and money to do mine like I would really like to.

Thank you so much for the link!
I love the fact that wallpaper can do so much for a room! Maybe, if you’ld do one room at a time, you can transform your home into an Art Nouveau home?
